Joanne Fournier
Director of Product Management |
When did you join Myca Health? I started collaborating with the Myca Team in January 2010, joined full time as User Experience Designer in September 2010 and then took a Product Manager position January 2011. What was the opportunity/challenge that appealed to you most? Working on a product that provides significant, profound and paradigm-shifting solutions for patients and providers. Nothing compares to the feeling of putting your ideas and passion in something you truly believe in and that has a meaningful purpose and can generate a positive outcome in somebody’s life. What particular leadership skills do you use every day? A mix of diplomacy, staying positive and being available to my colleagues. What past experience best prepared you for your role at Myca Health? Having worked both in startups and huge organizations, where collaborating with talented multi-disciplinary teams is essential to achieve goals, either very fast or at a huge scale. Finish this sentence: I know I’ll have met my own expectations here when _________? … well, can one ever meet their expectations without immediately setting new ones, especially when we’re trying to tailor the best solutions for our customers’ needs? I know we can always push beyond what’s been done, enhance and tweak to achieve the best experience for our customer, it’s an ever evolving process. A Tuesday afternoon meeting is cancelled at the last minute. How do you spend the unexpectedly free time? Catch up on ux & healthcare news, chat with my colleagues, brew some coffee and ideas. Richard Branson once said: “I’m not in the airline business. I’m in the business of entertainment at 32,000 feet.” Can you redefine what Myca does in a similar way? We’re in the business of empowering people to lead healthier lives. Wow, it’s really a huge business. Favorite movie of all time and why. American Beauty: you can live your life as everybody else expects or tell you to live it… Be courageous, dare to be different, stay true to yourself and try living up to your full potential. | |
